The Macellum, the Temple of Serapis
Also in Pozzuoli is the Macellum, also known as the Temple of Serapis. This is a world-renowned monument and a valuable testimony to the phenomenon of bradyseism (a volcanic phenomenon, typical of the Phlegraean Fields area, which consists of the lowering and raising of the ground level). On the marble columns of the Temple of Serapis are the marks left by the waters: holes made by the dates of the sea, the lithodomes.

A self-respecting tour of the Phlegraean Fields also passes through the port of Pozzuoli, but it is good to remember that it takes at least 5 hours to visit all these places.
If you wish, you can also choose longer tours, perhaps a full day, in order to discover other magical places such as Lake D'Averno, formed in one of the craters in the Pozzuoli area, or the splendid Archaeological Excavations of Cumae with the famous Sybil's Cave and the remains of the Temple of Jupiter.
