Naples, Pompeii and Vesuvius: guided tour from Naples

A day dedicated to discovering the Region's most evocative sites. We will take care of everything, from transfers to entrance fees, guided tours to lunch.

Useful Information

Pick up at the hotel at 8:15 a.m. for a tour of about 2 hours with a stop at the Cathedral to admire inside the Treasure Chapel in its Baroque style and the basilica of St. Restituta the first early Christian basilica from the 4th century AD.

Continuation by minibus to the city center via the Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino) and new stop in the area of Posillipo at the terrace of the church of S.Antonio from which there is the best panoramic view of the gulf. Return to the city center with a visit to Plebiscite Square, of the splendid Umberto I gallery and the exterior of the Royal Palace and of the S.Carlo theater.

Continuation to Pompeii for a guided tour of the archaeological excavations. The guide will explain the city's most striking sites such as the Forum, the Baths , the House of the Vettii and the Lupanare buried by ash and lapilli during the 79 AD eruption.

Lunch break with margherita pizza and soft drink.

We will then continue to Torre del Greco, from which there is access to Vesuvius National Park up to an altitude of 1000. Stop at the parking lot and walk to the summit of the only active volcano in continental Europe. Visit of the impressive crater at an altitude of 1200 meters from which it is possible to see the Gulf of Naples from Cape Miseno to the tip of Campanella.  

Return at about 5:30 pm.

Hotel pick-up: at all hotels and b&b's in Naples. The hotel will be indicated by the customer at the time of booking.

Port pick-up: at Molo Beverello or Molo Calata Porta di Massa in Naples respectively at the arrival of hydrofoils and ferries from the islands in the Gulf. The driver will wait on the pier with a name sign.

Cruise pick-up: at the Maritime Station at the arrival of cruise ships. Immediately near the ship, the driver will be waiting with a name sign.

Central Station pick-up: at the entrance to the Star hotel Terminus garage located immediately outside Naples Central Station on the left side. The driver will be waiting with a name sign.

Free tour for children from 0 to 3 years old.

In case of bad weather or force majeure, the climb may be suspended by the volcanological guides.
